Tamara Fay

Tamara Fay - Director
Tamara trained extensively in Toronto and BC. Career highlights include: "Wave Revue" cast member for Royal Carribean Cruise Lines, TV credits include Grand Larceny and E.N.G as well as dancing in numerous music videos for Revolver Productions in Toronto. She also was the Artistic Director and Choreographer for the BC Disability Games Ceremonies and the Artistic Director and Choreographer for the 2004 BC Summer Games Ceremonies. Tamara was the Choreographer for Yale Sr. Secondary musicals "Beauty and The Beast" and " West Side Story".
Tamara has taken many courses in creative movement with Anne Green Gilbert and a "Creative Movement for Educators" course at Western Washington University. Her more than 25 years of dance experience is enhanced by wide exposure to choreographers and dancers around the world.

Jessica MacMillan - Junior Dance Program
Jessica has been dancing for seven years and loves to perform and teach! She has trained in many different styles, including jazz, hip hop, lyrical, ballet, stage, and modern! She is very excited to teach the recreational and competitive line again this year at DanceWorx! Jessica has had the opportunity to perform and take part in many different events! In 2008 she performed with Danceworx Company on the Royal Caribbean cruise line. Attended fusion dance camp as an assistant and student for three years; she is excited to share her experience and knowledge in dance! Currently she is part of the B.C. Felions cheerleading team, and practices every week to get ready for games, and Grey Cup in November. Jessica is always training to further herself, by taking dance workshops all over the lower mainland. Jessica's passion is in the arts, and she is looking forward to welcoming her new students and sharing her love of dance with them.

Tammy Sanderson

Tammy Sanderson - Tap Program
Tammy has a broad background in dance after living and studying all dance styles in Los Angeles for eight years. Her dance credits include Oedipus Schmedipus written and directed by Rue McClanahan, the award winning 30's and 40's musical revue "Club Indigo" Revisited, Dragon Boat Festival, and Skills Canada. Tammy's choreography credits include the Pan Pacific Hazards Show, Emergency Awareness Week, Sound Sensation, "Brilliant" for the Vancouver Fringe Festival and for five years she choreographed for the Gotta Sing Gotta Dance Summer Theatre Program.
Tammy's production credits include Stage Manager/Cast Manager for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Mascot Launch, 1 Year Countdown to 2010, The Great Big Boo, Queen Elizabeth's Royal Visit, 93rd Annual Grey Cup Parade and the CFL Western Final 1/2 time show. For the past eight years Tammy has been Venue Manager at the Pacific National Exhibition for productions such as Fire in the Night, Bring on the Night, Zydeco Jam, City Rhythm, Sport Town Heroes Parade, Toontastic Parade, Toonrock Parade and Kaboom. Most recently Tammy was the Dance Coordinator for the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.
Tammy is the proud Co-Owner of Fusion Dance Company who created the productions Fusion Unplugged and Opening Doors. Fusion has operated a successful summer dance camp for the past sixteen years at the Rocky Mountain YMCA in Alberta and Camp Chehalis in Harrison Hot Springs, BC. She as well has been active in the teaching community in Vancouver since 1994 and has adjudicated across Western Canada for the past sixteen years.

Nick Hasenphlug Nick Hasenphlug - Choreographer/ Dance Instructor
Nicholas has been teaching since 2002 and shares his passion for breakdancing with many students he has taught throughout the last eight years.
Nicholas competes at several B-Boy events such as "Just for Kicks" in Surrey and "Circle Prinz Canada" Vancouver where he and his crew are known for their high achievements. He has hosted more than five "Born To Represent" competitions for dancers under the age of 16yrs. He also hosted the very well known international five on five competition, "Technique Warz", which attracts over six hundred dancers.
Nicholas is determined to share his love for dance with all of his students who seek a challenge and wish to enjoy themselves in the process. He looks at breakdancing as a way of life because you always have to overcome new challenges. Breakdancing is about always finding new ways to become a better person and to dance to the BEAT of your own drummer.

Emily Reid

Emily Reid - Junior Tap Program
Emily has been dancing for 14 years where she has trained competitively in the various areas: jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical, modern, acro and stage. A few of her performing opportunities include: 2002 BC Summer Games, 2007-08 BC Lions Fan Fest, 2006-07 BC Lions Half Time Show at BC Place, Stars at Sea by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and many more. Emily has trained side by side for many years with teachers that are well respected throughout North America. She has also helped to assist for many years, therefore preparing her for taking on her own classes. Emily is very excited and can't wait to see what this year has in store. Emily will continue to train with great intensity where her hopes and dreams as a dancer and a dance teacher can be fulfilled.

Kim Durham - Acro, Stunts and Tumbling
Formerly the founder of Aerial Dance and Acro Academy in Abbotsford, B.C., Kim built and ran the acro program there which made it a huge success. This has lead into other studios wanting her time and talent.
Kim started her gymnastic career at the age of 4. When she turned 9 years old, she won the Western Canadian Gymnastics Championships and was subsequently asked to train with an Olympic coach in the United States. Kim continued her gymnastics career until the age of 13 when she decided to dance full time, a discipline which she started at the age of 8, alongside her gymnastics discipline at the Vi Cameron School of Dance. Kim trained until she was 16, when she started coaching. Kim has maintained fitness and learning until this day. Kim has coached at both the National and International levels for her acro.
For the past nine years, Kim has been an acrobatic dance teacher for both the competitive levels as well as the recreational levels. Kim is so passionate about this discipline, she teaches every level of dancer who expresses interest in acro. Kim has achieved high honours as a trainer and choreographer over the years. This includes Choreographer of the year and diamond choreographer at the ADA and Adjudicator's choice as well as Teacher's choice in many local competitions all over the lower mainland as well as an 'Arty' award for her community contributions in Abbotsford. Many of Kim's performing groups have won top honours at local and remote competitions including taking the top spot at the Tacoma regionals and Hawaii Dance Experience in Waikiki, Hawaii.
Some of Kim's credits in the community include her choreographic contributions to our very own B.C. Summer Games, collaborative credit for the opening ceremonies for the Senior Summer Games, both of which were held right here in Abbotsford. She also has had the opportunity to work with the community of Vancouver with the 'fortheloveofityouth' on Granville Island. Kim continues to share her love of dance and acro with children of all ages. We are thrilled to welcome Kim as part of the Danceworx Team.


Sydney LillijordSydney Lillijord- Int & Sr Intensive Program
Sydney has trained extensively and passionately in Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Ballet, Pointe, Stage, Modern, Tap and Contemporary. She began teaching at the age of 17 at both competitive and recreational levels. Some of her performance experience includes dancing with the Vancouver dance company "The Source" performing in shows all over Vancouver including "West Side Stories" and "Zig or Zag". She was also a member of Brock Jellison's Ruckus Dance Company and performed in their sold out rock and dance show "77 minutes". Sydney took a break from performing in order to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Physiology while continuing to teach at multiple studios. Now armed with a better understanding of movement and the human body, she feels she can bring her new knowledge from the anatomy and kinesiology courses to the studio to better instruct her students. While Sydney loves to dance and perform herself, she also loves to teach others. She gets no better feeling than when seeing her students' technique as well as passion for dance flourish. She is excited for the new season and hopes she can fuel the love of dance in all her classes.

Lee Kwidzinski - Ballet Program
Lee is a registered ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, England. She holds a second teaching diploma specializing in Modern dance from Grant McEwan University in Edmonton. For 12 years Lee successfully ran her own school, The Fraser Valley Academy of Dance and was artistic director and founder of The Fraser Valley Youth Dance Theatre. Lee is currently the artistic director of ModernLee Dance Co. and divides her time as a ballet and modern dance instructor, guest choreographer, as well as a therapeutic dance educator promoting intergenerational dance programs for children and elders in care.

Paul Otterbein - Guest Choreographer

Paul Otterbein - Guest Choreographer
One of the most sought after Hip Hop choreographers in Canada, Paul has led his teams to 4 National Championships since 2006. Paul has choreographed music videos, Fitness USA, internationally and throughout the country.
His motto of "Believe" is what he shares with his students religiously through training all year long. Paul is one of the few "theme based" Hip Hop choreographers in the Lower Mainland and has earned over 30 Top and Overall Choreography awards since 2006. Paul has choreographed 3 teams to represent Canada at The World Hip Hop Championships. He has modeled for Brava Hair , Austin Modeling group and runway at Richards on Richards. Paul has been a guest Choreographer/teacher for Master classes in California, Seattle, Montreal, Niagara Region, Drive Dance Center, Harbour Dance Center and many more. One of the highlights in Paul's teaching career was being asked in 2009 by Hip Hop Legend "Kelly Konno" ( lead dancer for Janet Jackson , Justin Timberlake) to choreograph for her team for the 2010 Winter Olympics Celebration Stage.

Sherrie Scherger

Sherrie Scherger - Guest Choreographer
Sherrie has choreographed and performed across the globe for 18 years, a principal dancer for 6 years with renowned dance company “Decidedly Jazz” as well as Las Vegas company “Farrington Productions touring Japan for a year. She toured China as a back up singer, dancer, for “The Mix” U.S.A.,
Sherrie's Musical theatre credits include: 42nd Street, The Boyfriend, The Music Man performed in Toronto'’s finest theatres. Besides working as a freelance teacher, she has choreographed for companies such as: Fashion, Television, Fusion Dance Company, D-Funk, United Players Theatre & Mount Royal Theatre Arts Faculty.
Sherrie is the recent winner of Hawaii's International choreographer award. Some of her Film & Commercial credits include: Gemini Awards, The Sixth Man, Tim Horton's and Disney Radio. Sherrie's dynamic style and personality make her one of Canada's hottest teachers and choreographers.

Dori Hill

Dori Hill - Guest Instructor
Her formal dance training is in classical ballet. Other areas of dance studies are Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Stage. She performed professionally in various dance groups as well as choreographed and appeared in many musical theatre productions in BC. Dori is a confirmed eternal student. Her formal educational back ground is in the Sciences & Arts. She has a Certificate in Exercise Management, Business Management, a Diploma in Liberal Arts and currently in her last year of a Bachelor of Arts (Thematic Major: Women & Movement & Minor in Kinesiology) Her extended studies are in Women's Studies and Latin American Studies. She is currently a sessional instructor at UFV in the Kinesiology department.
As well as teaching many dedicated Pilates Clients her focus is on Dance conditioning programs (both physical and psychological aspects of a dancers training) she is a certified STOTT Pilates Practitioner and recently completed the prestigious BASI (Body Arts and Science) Comprehensive PILATES certification with Dance Conditioning Specialization from California State University in Long Beach.
Dori's scientific knowledge of the human body, her experience in the many concert forms of dance and cultural dance from around the world (Flamenco, Tango, Persian, African) plus her personal studies of the disciplines of Pilates & Yoga add to her deep understanding of the power of movement as essential expression for everyone.

Pam Young-Williams - Guest Choreographer
At the age of 8, Pam started dancing and she knew instantly this would be her passion. Growing up Pam trained and competed here in the Fraser Valley studying in jazz, ballet, modern, lyrical, stage and hip hop. One of the highlights of her dancing years was when she was chosen to be a representative at the BC provincial festival of arts. In later years, Pam frequently travelled to Seattle and L.A. to further her dance training.
Locally she has performed in and choreographed for many shows and fundraisers throughout BC including the Merrit Mountain Music Festival, Jail House Rock, a fundraiser for Haiti and many more performances. Pam?s passion for teaching emerged around age 18 and since that time she has dedicated her time and energy to her students and her craft. Her students have won many awards and scholarships and some have gone on to have successful careers in the dance industry.
In 2007, Pam decided she wanted to own her own dance studio to have the liberty to teach children about commitment, dedication and show them how the love and challenge of dance can bring joy and strength into their lives.
